Seat Belt Safety

Think seat belts are waste of time?

Think again.

Seat belts reduce the risk of fatal injury by 45% and reduce moderate to critical injury by 50%. Research shows that for every 100 unbelted people that are killed in motor vehicle collisions 60 of them could have lived if they had simply worn their seat belt. The common phrase of seat belt safety is “If you're not wearing your seat belt what's holding you back?” In the event of a motor vehicle collision there is actually nothing holding you back from being thrown into the windshield or worse being thrown or ejected from the vehicle. Three out of four people who are ejected from their vehicle die. Also unbelted people in a motor vehicle crash become projectiles in the vehicle that may injure or kill other people involved. The evidence shows that seat belts are the single most cost effective life saving device currently available and offer the best protection against death and injury in the event of a crash.

What's holding you back?
