What Can You Do?
- Use only small amounts of fertilizer on the lawn.
Rain can wash fertilizer down the storm drains and on into Camrose Creek.
- Use only small amounts of pesticides and herbicides. Rain can wash pesticides and
herbicides down the storm drains and on into Camrose Creek.
- Never dump wastes of any kind into storm drains or onto roads, lanes, or
fields where they will be washed into the storm drains.
- It is against the law to dump hazardous materials anywhere where they may be
washed into our water system.
- Plant trees and grass. Plants use water and help slow down runoff.
- Rain barrels can catch rain. The rain water can then be used to water plants at a later date.
By following these simple rules, we can protect plants and animals and we will be protecting our drinking water too.
