Water Quality Awareness

Location, Location, Location!

The Water Quality Awareness event is held at the Bill Fowler Park in Camrose.

The location offers a large, scenic area for displays right up close to Mirror Lake. Trumpeter swans put on a show for the public as they leisurely swim by and check out the event. Their trumpets can be heard in the background throughout the day.

The Bill Fowler Cente affords a place for storage of display and testing materials before the event.

The park has nine picnic tables, a natural amphitheater setting, benches, drinking water and a playground for the young at heart.

The Bill Fowler Park also has a large parking lot. It is located close to the busy Highway 13, and also along walking trials of the Camrose park system.

Water Monitoring

  4. Turbidity
All parameters are important for water quality. Information booths are set up for all four parameters. Each booth contains testing supplies. A table in located at the center with pencils as part of the display group. This table is entitled "It's What We Drink" and contains a water pitcher, wetland plants, a flower and a yellow fish. Pencils on the display can be used for recording test results. The testing site is close to the posted walking trail.
