Why Recycle?

Plastic bags, newspapers, old clothes, broken toys, tin cans, and glass jars, are just a few examples of the millions of items that are thrown away every day.

Waste at the Landfill

Most of us push these things into a garbage bag, and leave them for the garbage truck to pick up. It is gone and we don't have to think about it any more, right!

We do need to think about garbage!

Did you know that the things you throw into the garbage are valuable?

All of those itmes ar emade from materials found or grown on the Earth.

And, did you know that most of the stuff you throw away could have been used again or made into new things?

Everything that you put out for the garbage truck to collect, is buried at the landfill? It is put in a hole, covered up with clay, never to be used again.

What a Waste!

ONE MAN'S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE!

Learning about the three Rs is a great way to help us slow down and think so that we don't waste things.

REDUCE! REUSE! RECYCLE!

You have probably heard about these before, but did you know that they are listed in the order of their importance?
