Project Profile:

This project was approved by City Council in 2006 and carried forward into the 2007 construction season.

The 46 Avenue and 57 Street project involves the total reconstruction of the roadways, including:

• Salvage of the existing roadway pavements and gravel structure
• Excavation of the road base to provide for the placement of granular structure
• Removal of the existing landscaping in the boulevards to accommodate re-grading
• Removal and replacement of the existing concrete sidewalks, curb & gutters
• Asphalt Paving (75mm depth)
• Boulevard topsoil replacement and landscaping with grass sod

The reconstruction work is expected to begin late spring with road base reconstruction with the concrete replacement scheduled for summer. The work will be staged in an effort to minimize the impact of the roadway construction on area residents.

Adjacent roadways and lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.

Engineering:

The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.

Contractor:

Border Paving Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the road work.
Joe's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the concrete work.
