48 Avenue / 66 Street

Signal Upgrade

Project Profile:

Geometric modifications including curb & gutter re-alignments will provide motorists traveling north & south through this intersection with a smoother transition including safer movements northbound off 48th Avenue.

Traffic signal pole upgrades will accompany the intersection modifications as well signal head changes to the new LED style.

Engineering:

The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department and Traffic Solutions Consulting Ltd.

Contractor:

EPCOR was awarded the traffic signal intersection contract. Joe's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the curb and gutter replacement.

Budget and Funding:

The estimated to cost for this project is $100,000.

Schedule:

  • Relocation of traffic control devices completed by mid October.
  • Remainder of project will be postponed until 2006.
