Project Profile:

This project is the latest in a series of designed improvements scheduled for 48th Avenue. The work involves the realignment / widening of 48th Avenue along the north side of this roadway, allowing for lane widths to increase to the modern standard. The curb and gutter will be replaced throughout the project, which will introduce minor grade changes to improve drainage along the roadway. Newer, wider sidewalks will be constructed on both the North and South sides of 48 Avenue to improve pedestrian comfort, safety and accessibility. Asphalt failures on sections of roadway and drainage issues will also be addressed as part of the scope of project.

For these blocks of 48th Avenue, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the entire duration of the project which is expected to take up to 4 weeks. Traffic signal pole upgrades will accompany the intersection modifications as well signal head changes to the new LED style.
