39 Street to Exhibition Drive Last Modified November 24, 2005 Partially Funded by: Project Profile: Accelerating asphalt distress / failures and the associated high maintenance costs involved have brought this project to the top of the City’s priority list. Geometric changes at 39th Street, including an acceleration lane west on Camrose Drive and associated concrete work will be required with the majority of the work involving the planing (grinding) of a layer of the existing road surface in an effort to mitigate much of the surface cracking you see today. The depth of grinding and thickness of the new asphalt overlay will vary depending on the existing condition and the extent of cracking. Sections of Camrose Drive will be closed to vehicles for short periods during the construction. Adjacent roadways will provide an alternative access. The City will provide notice of the upcoming work in an effort to minimize the impact to area residents and the motoring public. ![]() Engineering: The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department, with the assistance of Infrastructure Systems Ltd. Contractor: Border Paving has been awarded the contract for this project. Budget and Funding: The 2005 component of the roadway rehabilitation project is estimated to cost $650,000.00 with approximately 70% funding from provincial grants and the other 30% by the City at large.
