Project Profile: Camrose City Council committed to undertake the roadway reconstruction in this area of Camrose within the next two years. With this large a commitment by the City of Camrose, Council felt that the bylaw for replacing the curbs, sidewalks and roadway paving as a local improvement must be passed by area residents prior to proceeding with deep utility upgrades (water & sewer) undertaken in the 2004 construction season. Roadway improvements would begin in 2005, allowing at least one year for the majority of trench settlement to occur. By delaying surface improvements we minimize concrete cracking and "dips" in road surface resulting in a higher quality product. The City hosted an open house for residents on of the area in the spring of 2004 to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and get input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction etc. ![]() Engineering: The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department. Contractor: Central Oilfield Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for this project. Budget and Funding: The 2005 roadway component of this project is estimated to cost $1,734,000.00 with approximately $450,000.00 paid by the adjacent property owners. Schedule: The first phase of deep utilities was completed in 2004. Remaining deep utilities are scheduled for 2005. Roadway improvements will follow in 2005 and 2006.
