Project Profile:
Businesses along 47th Avenue encouraged City Council to initiate a local improvement, to undertake the asphalt paving of the existing gravel road abutting the properties.
The project involves the placement of approximately 150mm of road crush gravel and 125mm of asphalt paving. Improvements to the ditch grading will also be included.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.
Contractor:
Border Paving was awarded the contract for this project in 2003.
Budget and Funding:
The estimated cost as reflected in the local improvement bylaw for the project was $228,000 of which approximately $34,000 was funded by the City of Camrose.
Schedule:
- A local improvement bylaw was initiated by the City of Camrose in August 2003.
- The local improvement bylaw was passed in September 2003.
- Design was completed by mid October 2003.
- Bottom and top lift paving, along with ditch reconstruction was completed by September 2004.
