(47-48 Avenue) Partially Funded by: Project Profile:The 2003 City of Camrose Capital Budget includes the roadway reconstruction of 54th Street between 47th and 48th Avenues. The water main, and water and sewer service replacements were completed on this block last fall. We allow at least one freeze thaw cycle to assist in the trench settlements before constructing roadway surface improvements. The roadway project involves the excavation of the existing road base and backfill with road base gravel (completed last fall). The 2003 work involves the installation of new concrete curbs and sidewalks, asphalt paving and boulevard sod work. The City hosted an open house for residents on 54th Street in 2002. Discussion involved the local improvement costs, project schedule and obtaining input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction, etc. 54th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during construction. Fortunately lanes provide an alternative access in these areas.
