Project Profile:
The pavement on this block has deteriorated and must be replaced. The underground services and most of the curbs are in good shape.
In the Spring of 2000, the City hosted an open house for residents of the area to discuss the project scheduling and to receive input from the property owners about existing problems such as drainage, etc.
The road construction project involves the excavation of the existing road base and backfill with road base gravel for the south portion of this block followed by the asphalt overlay of the entire block. Existing lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.
Engineering
Design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.
Contractor
The contractor for this project is Border Paving.
Budget and Funding
The total project budget is $45,000.00. The paving project is funded 1/3 by local property owners and 2/3 City of Camrose. The property owners have the choice of either paying their share in a lump sum, or apply the cost to their taxes over a 10 year period.
Schedule
Paving was completed by June 11th, 2002.
