(52 - 54 Avenue)
Partially Funded by: Project Profile:The 2002 City of Camrose Capital Budget includes the roadway reconstruction of 54th Street between 52nd and 54th Avenue's and 52nd Avenue and 53rd Avenue’s between 53rd and 54th Streets. Water and sewer service replacements were completed on the south block of 54th Street late last fall, and the north block will be completed this Spring. In both cases we allow at least one freeze thaw cycle to assist in the settlement. Thus the north block will not see paving until 2003. The roadway project the excavation of the existing road base as required, installation of new concrete curbs and sidewalks, asphalt paving and boulevard sod work. The City will host an open house for residents on 54th Street to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction, etc. 54th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on a block by block basis during construction. Fortunately lanes provide an alternative access in these areas.
EngineeringDesign and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.
ContractorBranco Concrete and Border Paving were awarded contracts for this project.
Budget and Funding
The 2002 roadway local improvement project is estimated to cost $480,000.00 with approximately 1/3 being paid by the adjacent property owners and 2/3 paid by the City at large.
