56 Lots to be developed
Project Background - Century Meadows is a multi staged residential subdivision development located in the southwest corner of Camrose. As of December 2000 approximately 122 of the proposed 268 lots have been completely serviced. Lot sales remain strong and the City expects to complete the development within 5 years. For more information on lot availability and prices, please contact Dennis Twomey at City Hall, 672-4426. Project Profile - In the spring of 2001 the installation of underground utilities to complete the deep servicing of the remaining residential lots in the “Century Meadows” were completed. Deep utilities are installed at least one year in advance of any surface improvements such as paving and sidewalks. The majority of trench settlement occurs within the first year of installation. By delaying surface improvements we minimize concrete cracking and 'dips' in road surface resulting in a higher quality product for the property purchaser. The construction of surface improvements (paving & sidewalks) will be completed in several phases over the coming few years. The next phase to be completed will be the Elliot Drive and 64 Street loop to 35 Avenue which will result in an additional 56 Single Family Lots, (shown below in orange).
There should be very little impact on access to the existing residential residents during construction, although there will be an increase in the amount of traffic. Budget and Funding - The budget to complete the underground component of the development is $550,000.00 and the budget for surface improvements is $1,000,000.00 both projects funded from City Land Fund Reserve / Lot sales.
