Built: February, 1996
How? Through a cooperative effort between the Camrose Arts Society, Camrose
Co-op and the City of Camrose. The Centre also owes its existence to several clubs, organizations grants and
individuals due to their generous donations. Originally, the Camrose Arts Society oversaw the operation of the
centre, however, as of January 1997 the City of Camrose now oversees its operation.
Why? To provide space that was conducive to the promotion, continuence and
support of all Arts groups who choose to be under one roof.
Location: 4809-52 Street. (West side, lower level of the Camrose Co-op)
Hours of Operation: Varies, but generally 8:30 am - 9:00 pm weekdays (often
later). Varies on weekends and during Summer months depending on bookings.
Name: Named in honor of the late Chuck MacLean, who was a patron and great
supporter of the Arts.
What will you find at the Chuck MacLean Arts Centre? You will find
two art studios, a dark room, a board room, a recital hall and two dance studios
that are available for rent for all occasions.
