Do you enjoy the water? Like helping kids? Why not start training to become a swimming instructor! Join us in the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course.
WSI prepares candidates to instruct all of the Red Cross Swimming programs. Candidates must complete all of the components of WSI - Skills Evaluation, WSI - Online, WSI - Teaching Experience and WSI - Classroom and Pool. Once candidates have successfully completed their in-water Skills Assessment they will receive their WSI package to work on their Online and Teaching Experience components, which must be completed prior to joining the Classroom and Pool component. Once the candidate has successfully completed all of the components they will be fully certified to instruct Red Cross Swimming programs.
Prerequisites: 15 years old by the last day of the course, Red Cross Swim Kids level 10 or equivalent and completion of one of the following - Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard, Emergency First Aid (EFA) or higher, or Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion (certification does not have to be current).
Skills Assessment will run on Friday June 15th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Cost $50.00
Classroom and Pool will run Monday to Friday July 30th to August 3rd from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Cost $300.00 all materials are included in this cost
Re-cap Classroom and Pool will run on Monday August 27th from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
